I just picked up a 1947 copy of the Voyage of the Parma by A. J. Villiers from a lovely secondhand bookshop in Portland, Victoria. Called the Paper Nautilus Bookstore, there is no website but it is featured on the South West Book Trail website here (www.southwestbooktrail.com.au/portland/). Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in Portland.
I also visited the Portland Maritime Discovery Centre. Aside from the amazing whale skeleton in the lobby, it contained lots of information about local shipping including whaling, shipwrecks and fishing using couta boats. Not sure if they have their own website but it is featured here on the Arts Victoria website (www.cv.vic.gov.au/organisations/3969/portland-maritime-discovery-centre/).
